Warsaw: The viewing platform of St. Anne’s Church

As the capital of Poland, Warsaw is the embodiment of resilience and transformation. After being destroyed during WWII, the city reinvented itself, all while staying true to its history.

The Old Town, which was meticulously rebuilt, has retained its authenticity. At the same time, modern and vibrant new neighborhoods are constantly developing. Local museums, like the Warsaw Uprising Museum, are reminders of the city’s tragic past. Warsaw is a wonderful mix of history, culture, and modernity.

The walk up to the panoramic viewing platform on top of the bell tower of St. Anne’s Church offers a 360° view of the Old Town, the stadium, the River Vistula, and the modern skyline with the Palace of Culture and Science.

There are about a hundred steps leading up to the observation terrace (entrance fee).

The viewing platform of St. Anne’s Church is the perfect place to start your visit in Warsaw and get overview of the city before exploring the cobbled streets and colorful façades of the Old Town on foot.

Address: Krakowskie Przedmieście 68 (next to the Royal Castle), Warsaw

I was there with Dad, some 15 years ago, and then a couple of years later with friends. I really liked the rather gritty city and I’m sure it will have improved since then xx

What a fantastic guide to Warsaw! The viewing platform of St. Anne’s Church sounds like the perfect spot to admire the city’s blend of history and modernity. The 360° view of the Old Town and the River Vistula must be breathtaking, especially at sunset. Thanks for sharing this insightful tip—it’s definitely going on my must-visit list for Warsaw!
