We’d been looking for a new place to have great pizza in Strasbourg for quite some time. 22Mai was exactly what we needed, and a great find. This promising new restaurant, with its friendly atmosphere and colorful, contemporary interior serves some of the best Neapolitan pizzas in town.
22Mai (22Mai – Pizzo Social Club) is a new pizzeria in the center of Strasbourg, specializing in Neapolitan pizzas.
The menu consists of a mix of six authentic and original pizzas: Marguerite, On dirait le Sud, Spider Cochon, Mega Saucisse, Mortelle Mortadelle, and Peet’za. The selection will vary from season to season, in addition to a weekly special with bold flavor combinations. There are also vegetarian options available.

The pizza chef has received rigorous training in terms of authenticity, following the traditional methods and using the regional ingredients required to make true Neapolitan pizza. He applies the fundamental principles and adds a personal touch to some of his creations.

The Marguerite (or Margherita) and the Peet’za (with a butternut squash sauce, mozzarella, guanciale, and gorgonzola) are mouthwateringly delicious, and perfectly cooked in a special oven at over 400°C (over 750 °F). The crust is light, chewy and crispy at the same time. The pizzas are topped with fresh, quality ingredients, and the tomato sauce is incredibly tasty.

The restaurant makes for a lovely environment where clients feel at ease. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, while the decor focuses on bright colors and fun prints, far from the standards of your classic pizzeria.

We would definitely place 22Mai in the Top 3 best pizzas in Strasbourg. As soon as we finished our meal, we immediately wanted to come back.
22Mai will no doubt become one of those places you cannot miss in Strasbourg, and a local ambassador for authentic Neapolitan pizza: don’t forget to make your reservation right here
We particularly enjoyed
• The friendly service
• The authenticity and quality of the pizzas
• The intensely flavorful tomato sauce
• The endeavor for originality and going beyond the most classic pizza recipes
• The laid-back atmosphere and disco-inspired decor

I just ate lunch and now I’m hungry. Your descriptions of the pizzas are mouthwatering. Too bad I live an ocean away. Great post.

Actually we drove an hour for these amazing vegetarian nachos. They are worth the drive every time. Food on the other side of the ocean for you can be just as tempting.

Totally get that! We still think about some things we ate in Japan and Namibia. We love to go back just to have those things again, even though they’re half a world away 😊

I spent the summer of 1976 in Strasbourg at the University on a French language course. Of course we didn’t have the money to eat out much, but I do recall the time with great affection
