A Mediterranean restaurant in Strasbourg: Tzatzi

In its brightly colored and stylishly decorated restaurant, Tzatzi offers a variety of dishes from the Mediterranean and Middle East.

Tzatzi takes us on a culinary voyage to Beirut, Athens, and Istanbul. The menu consists of a wide array of hot and cold meze, salads, pide (a kind of Turkish pizza), roasted vegetables, and hummus.

The dishes are generous, flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. There are lots of options, both for carnivores and vegans or vegetarians.

A special mention for the classic hummus with sesame (we went as far as mopping it all up with our pita bread), the zucchini patties with a mint yoghurt dip, and the chicken pide. This oval pizza-like pie, baked in the oven and topped with Greek yoghurt, sliced chicken, spiced zucchini, kaşar cheese, za’atar pesto and tarator immediately became a firm favorite for Stéphanie.

The drinks menu was custom made for the restaurant. The house special, the Limonana, a mocktail with lemon juice, sugar, and minced mint leaves, is deliciously light and fresh. A perfect drink to go with your meal. Stop the water, made with pomegranate nectar, basil, elderflower syrup and sparkling water, is a fruity, herby and addictive mocktail.

We particularly enjoyed

  • The friendly service and attentive staff
  • The bright, verdant and colorful decor inspired by the Mediterranean
  • The simple, yet intensely flavorful dishes
